This area crosses two mountain ranges of exceptional beauty to Innsbruck, the site of the Winter Olympics. Day 1: Arrival to Garmisch Partenkirchen
Overnight in your hotel in Garmisch Partenkirchen.

Day 2: Garmisch Partenkirchen - Mount Kreuzeck
This morning starts with a hike on the path into Höllentalklamm, otherwise known as Hell Valley Gorge! You'll hike uphill into the gorge and to the scenically located mountain cabin called, Höllentalangerhütte. You'll get a view to the highest mountain in Germany. Take a rest before following a high trail above the gorge to Mount Kreuzeck. Enjoy your scenic downhill ride on a cable car. Overnight in Garmisch Partenkirchen!

Day 3: Garmisch Partenkirchen - Wetterstein Massif - Schachen cabin
This morning you'll walk through another gorge to the foot of Wetterstein Mountain. It's a steep climb until you reach "the Kings Path" to Castle Schachen. Keep going until you reach the mountain cabin where you'll spend the night. The cozy cabin offers anything you could want in the way of a traditional mountain hut (breakfast, no luggage transfer).

Day 4: Schachen cabin - Leutasch Valley - Scharnitz
Today starts with an uphill hike to the mountain pass where you find the Meilerhütte (hut) next to the border. You'll head downhill through an impressive rocky landscape to the lush Leutasch Valley. From here, walks uphill through a gorge to Scharnitz at the edge of the National Park of Karwendel. Your luggage will be at your hotel where you'll enjoy your overnight.
. 17,9 km, 7,5 hours walking time, 910 meters upwards and 1.820 meters downwards (It's possible to take a bus and shorten the hike if you want.)

Day 5: Scharnitz - Transfer Karwendel Valley - Hallerangeralm cabin
Your goal today is to walk through alpine pastures to the Hallerangeralm Hut. This is a fairly easy 2 hour hike through the Halleranger Alpine pasture. Simply relax and enjoy the scenery or walk up to Mount Sunntiger Spitze. You'll overnight in very comfortable mountain cabin with breakfast (no luggage transfer)
. 5.6 or 19 km, 2.5 or 5 hours to walk, 550 or 850 meters upwards

Day 6: Hallerangeralm cabin - Karwendel Mountain range - Innsbruck
A spectacular path leads you across several ridges (passes) to the famous Nordkette of Innsbruck. A short but steep ascent requires sure-footedness and stamina. After that you can walk light hearted - but better not light headed - to the summit station of Hafelekar cable car. The cable car goes downhill to Innsbruck, where you'll spend the night.
. 12.2 km, 6 hours walking, 1.150 meters upwards and 720 meters downwards.

Day 7: Time to leave the beautiful city of Innsbruck and start planning your next trip!

Luggage Transfer:
From Garmisch to Scharnitz and from Scharnitz to Innsbruck. You have to carry part of your luggage in your daypack up to the cabins!

Dinner:
All cabins are offering hot food on the menu and in Scharnitz at least one restaurant will be open!
